Introduction
Our self-catering Old Granary is a detached 3 bed-roomed cottage. We have tried to provide as much information as possible in this statement, if you have any queries please call 01928 788355. We very much look forward to welcoming you to the property.
Pre-Arrival
We have our own website www.wickentreefarm.co.uk. Bookings or enquiries can be made via e-mail ches@williamj99.freeserve.co.uk or telephone 01928 788355.
The nearest bus stop from the property is 500 metres. The nearest train station is Delamere. Manchester to Chester line is one mile. There are no taxis available from the railway station. We have several local taxi firms’ numbers that can be supplied.
We can arrange to receive any shopping delivered prior to your arrival.
We do provide a welcome pack on arrival.
We can provide information in large print if required.
Arrival and Car Parking Facilities
There is adequate secure parking for three vehicles within the cottage grounds, with extra parking for visitors outside the gates.
The entrance to the property has a small threshold step of 5cm on to a flat surface from a flat surface. The main entrance door is hinged to the left; the door is 82cm wide.
Parking is one metre from the entrance.
Arrival by main drive off B5152 to second set of gates with buzzer for guests who will be greeted and directed to The Old Granary. Approach via flat gravelled drive.
Lounge and Dining Room
Entrance door from hallway door width 76cm hinged to left, flat surface throughout leading to sun room.
Step 23cm to dining kitchen, flat surface. Oblong dining table, moveable legs to each corner 76cm high 90cm wide and 240cm long, seating for 8 people. Chairs padded, no arms, moveable. Kitchen open plan with dining area flat tiled floor surface, work top height 90cm, oven door drop down 1.12 metres. Belfast sink mixer tap, cupboards underneath halogen hob 90cm high. Adequate space between all furniture and worktops. Evenly lit with spot lights above work surfaces where required. Freestanding American fridge, freezer with ice and water dispenser.
Downstairs WC, small utility room with front loading washing machine and dryer. Door width is 69cm long.
First Floor to Bedrooms
Stairs to first floor with handrail, 3 en-suite bedrooms – 2 with showers, toilets and small wash-basins, tiled floors – from landing to main bedroom step 23cm. Bathroom, bath width 47cm, shower cubicle, toilet and large wash-basin, tiled floor. Good colour contrast between floor, walls and furniture. Bedrooms short piled carpets throughout.
The Granary Building
Due to the age and configuration of the building it is open to all, but not actively promoted for severely disabled people.
Grounds and Garden
Gated and walled enclosed concrete yard leading to enclosed cobbled yard to rear. Access to garden and patio area with steps down to walled garden mainly laid to lawn with flower beds.
Gate through to large pond and garden area for guests use. Also children’s play area. The gate has coded lock; we recommend parents supervise young children.
The Granary overlooks the pond garden, which due to the gradients it may not be suitable for the severely infirm or wheelchair users.
Additional Information

There is adequate fire precaution equipment including smoke detectors and fire alarms in all habitable rooms.
The property is strictly non-smoking. Guide dogs and service pets are welcome. Please inform on booking.
We live in the adjacent Wickentree Farm house any problems arising can be dealt with immediately.
